Abinader inaugura carretera Bayaguana–El Puerto y redefine la integración del Este y el Nordeste
BAYAGUANA.– El presidente Luis Abinader dejó inaugurada la carretera Bayaguana–El Puerto, una obra que salda una deuda histórica con comunidades que durante más de tres décadas enfrentaron limitaciones por la falta de una conexión vial segura y eficiente.
La vía forma parte de un corredor estratégico de 103 kilómetros, integrado por los tramos Hato Mayor–El Puerto, El Puerto–Bayaguana, Bayaguana–Monte Plata y Monte Plata–Cevicos, que permitirá conectar la región Este desde Higüey y El Seibo con provincias del nordeste como Sánchez Ramírez, San Francisco de Macorís, María Trinidad Sánchez y Samaná, sin necesidad de atravesar Santo Domingo.
Impulso al desarrollo regional
Durante el acto, el ministro de Obras Públicas, Eduardo Estrella, destacó que la obra optimiza los tiempos de desplazamiento, mejora la seguridad vial y fortalece el intercambio económico entre comunidades agrícolas, comerciales y turísticas.
“Esta obra integra territorios, mejora el acceso a servicios esenciales y dinamiza el desarrollo económico regional”, afirmó.
El funcionario informó que actualmente se ejecutan 27 obras en la provincia, entre calles, puentes y caminos vecinales, que suman más de 100 kilómetros para conectar el Cibao Central con el nordeste.
La carretera impacta directamente a comunidades como El Mamón, Libonao, Los Manantiales, La Lima, Las Cañas, Majagual, El Puerto y Gonzalo, reduciendo el aislamiento histórico y facilitando el acceso a salud, educación y comercio.
Agricultura y turismo fortalecidos
La nueva infraestructura también impulsa la producción agrícola de cítricos, cacao, ganadería, jengibre y miel, además de fortalecer el turismo religioso y ecológico al mejorar el acceso al Santuario Nacional Santo Cristo de los Milagros y otros destinos de peregrinación y naturaleza.
Una espera de más de 30 años
El senador de Monte Plata, Pedro Tineo, resaltó que la obra estuvo más de 30 años en espera y calificó su entrega como un hecho trascendental para la provincia.
“Esta carretera representa mucho más que asfalto y concreto; es desarrollo, integración regional y progreso para toda la gente”, expresó.
En igual sentido, la senadora de San Pedro de Macorís, Aracelis Villanueva, afirmó que la vía conecta más de 30 comunidades y dignifica a la población.
Copey celebra su primer asfalto
El paraje de Copey vivió una jornada de celebración al recibir por primera vez pavimentación en sus calles, con 2.3 kilómetros intervenidos como parte de las obras complementarias. La inauguración se realizó en esta comunidad, donde residentes manifestaron entusiasmo por la transformación.
La comunitaria Yesenia Montero Sánchez destacó que la carretera mejora la calidad de vida y facilita el tránsito hacia escuelas y centros de trabajo.
“Antes nadie podía transitar; ahora todo es diferente y mejor”, afirmó.
Detalles técnicos y alcance nacional
La carretera tiene una longitud de 20.3 kilómetros, con dos carriles de 3.65 metros, paseos laterales, aceras, drenajes y señalización, diseñada para una velocidad de 80 kilómetros por hora. Sumando las calles rehabilitadas en Bayaguana y Copey, el total intervenido asciende a 22.6 kilómetros.
Con esta inauguración, junto a la reciente entrega de la carretera de Villa Riva, el Gobierno consolida en una misma semana dos proyectos que transforman el mapa vial nacional, fortaleciendo la integración territorial y el desarrollo económico del Este y el Nordeste de la República Dominicana.
