Cibao ficha a luxemburgués de madre dominicana como portero
Cristopher González.
SANTO DOMINGO.- El club de fútbol Cibao, campeón de liga, anunció que contrató al guardameta luxemburgués de madre dominicana Cristopher González, quien viene de jugar en la primera división de ese país.
«Es un chico que veníamos siguiendo hace un tiempo; en el fútbol dominicano no hay muchos porteros, razón por la que entendimos que había que buscarlo fuera y entre las opciones González es lo mejor», afirmó en una nota el director deportivo del Cibao, Gaby Fernández.
Fernández consideró que González es «joven, puede crecer, tiene mucha experiencia, ha jugado bastante en Luxemburgo en primera división y entendemos que vamos a generar mucha y buena competencia con Miguel Lloyd», el guardameta titular del club.
González, de 26 años, nació en Luxemburgo el 18 agosto de 1996, su madre es dominicana, por lo que ostenta la doble nacionalidad. Viene de actuar en ocho partidos en primera división con el Una Strassen.
«He decidido jugar acá, en primer lugar, porque es el país natal de mi madre; siempre he venido a visitar a la familia, he entendido que el fútbol dominicano está creciendo poco a poco y que hay un equipo que se llama Cibao FC, que es ya un equipo grande del país», afirmó González.
Aseguró que su plan original era no seguir más en Europa, ver qué le puede ofrecer América Latina o el Caribe como deportista y a nivel de vida también.
«Siempre soy optimista, cada vez voy a dar todo para crecer y ver lo que el fútbol dominicano me da, si aquí puedo seguir al más alto nivel o si me lleva a otro país, uno nunca sabe», agregó.
