COE coloca en alerta a cinco provincias por tormenta tropical Oscar
SANTO DOMINGO.- El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE) colocó bajo alerta verde a cinco provincias, debido a la formación de la tormenta tropical Oscar.
Las localidades alertadas son Santiago Rodríguez, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Monte Cristi y Valverde.
Por esto, el COE recomendó a las personas abstenerse de cruzar, ríos, arroyos y cañadas que presenten altos volúmenes de agua en las provincias bajo alerta.
De manera similar, instó a la población y a los organismos de primera respuesta en la Costa Atlántica a darle seguimiento a la restricción contenida en el informe marino del Instituto Dominicano de Metrología (Indomet).

El Centro Nacional de Huracanes de Estados Unidos (NHC, por su sigla en inglés) informó la formación de la tormenta tropical Oscar.
De acuerdo con el NHC, Óscar es una “pequeña tormenta tropical”.
Según el primer aviso público sobre este fenómeno atmosférico, está ubicado a unos 795 kilómetros de Camagüey, Cuba, trasladándose a 20 kilómetros por hora.
Asimismo, lleva una velocidad de sus vientos máximos sostenidos de 65 kilómetros por hora.
