Dominicana entre los 10 países más endeudados de América
SANTO DOMINGO.- República Dominicana figura entre las 10 economías de América Latina con mayor nivel de deuda pública, equivalente al 59.7 por ciento del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB), según datos divulgados hoy por Bloomberg Línea.
Los resultados obtenidos a partir de cifras del Instituto de Finanzas Internacionales (IIF) colocan a este país por encima de naciones como México (47.7 por ciento), Chile (43.6 por ciento) y Perú (31.6 por ciento), y muy próximo a los porcentajes de Costa Rica (60.3 por ciento) y Jamaica (60.8 por ciento).
A nivel regional, los países con mayor carga de deuda pública son Brasil (90.9 por ciento), El Salvador (87.6 por ciento) y Argentina (76.7 por ciento), todos ubicados muy por encima del promedio latinoamericano, según la misma fuente.
El informe destaca que el endeudamiento mundial continúa en ascenso, impulsado principalmente por el sector gubernamental debido a déficits fiscales persistentes y políticas de estímulo.
El IIF advirtió que las economías emergentes elevan su dependencia del financiamiento externo en dólares, apoyándose en emisiones récord de eurobonos para cubrir sus necesidades fiscales.
Esta tendencia, señala el organismo, incrementa los riesgos financieros ante posibles cambios en las condiciones globales, como alzas en las tasas de interés o mayores presiones en los mercados internacionales.
