En RD no hay reportes de enfermedad cutánea afecta Haití; activan «sistema de vigilancia Centinela»
SANTO DOMINGO.- El Ministerio de Salud Pública informó que no ha recibido ninguna notificación nacional en el Sistema de Vigilancia Epidemiológica (SINAVE), sobre la enfermedad cutánea sospechosa de origen desconocido que circula en Haití.

“Aclara que, a través del consulado dominicano en la República de Haití, se recibió la información de aumento de casos de una infección cutánea que afecta a ciudadanos haitianos”, detalló en una nota de prensa.
Para las personas infectadas, además, el Ministerio de Salud Pública ha pedido que eviten rascarse la piel.
Síntomas de la enfermedad
Salud Pública señaló que, hasta el momento, dentro de la sintomatología de la enfermedad está la aparición de prurito intenso de predominio nocturno y ronchas y/o lesiones lineales descamativas.
Agregó que no se tiene conformación del parásito causante de esta infección, pero que las medidas de control son las mismas que para la escabiosis, “enfermedad endémica en el territorio haitiano y que ha sido un problema de las autoridades de salud pública haitianas por más de tres años”.
Enfermedad «altamente contagiosa»
La presencia de la enfermedad en la vecina nación fue comunicada el jueves de este semana por el Ministerio de Salud Pública de Haití (MSPP), que en la ocasión advirtió al pueblo sobre una forma de infección cutánea «altamente contagiosa» similar a la sarna. Dijo que se había detectado en varias demarcaciones.
«El Ministerio aprovecha esta oportunidad para aconsejar a cualquier persona que presente los siguientes signos y síntomas que acuda a la institución sanitaria más cercana: picor y lesiones cutáneas, especialmente por la noche», refirió e indicó una serie de medidas para evitar la propagación de la infestación, entre las cuales están:
- Evitar cualquier contacto directo con una persona infectada
- Hervir el lecho
- Desinfectar la ropa, las sábanas, almohadas y toallas
- Airear las habitaciones y espacios
- Asearse con agua limpia
- evitar principalmente rascarse la piel a pesar del escozor
