Frente Agropecuario del PRM destaca logro Hambre Cero RD

SANTO DOMINGO.– El Frente Agropecuario del Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) afirmó que la República Dominicana alcanzó la meta de Hambre Cero, de acuerdo con el Informe 2026 de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO).
El organismo, que presiden el Ing. Eulalio Ramírez, informó que se trata de un resultado que sitúa al país entre los referentes de América Latina en seguridad alimentaria.
Indicó que la subalimentación disminuyó del 8.7 % de la población en 2019 al 3.6 % en 2025, hasta ubicarse por debajo del 2.5 % en 2026.
Asimismo, destacó que la pobreza se redujo del 26 % al 16 %, cifras que atribuyó a las políticas públicas orientadas al fortalecimiento de la producción agropecuaria y al acceso a los alimentos.
IMPACTO SOCIAL Y RECONOCIMIENTO
El organismo oficialista informó que el Gobierno ha destinado más de 160,000 millones de pesos en financiamientos mediante créditos a tasa cero y préstamos al 6 % y 8 %, beneficiando a más de 130,000 productores.
Aseguró que estas acciones permitieron elevar en un 17 % la producción agropecuaria, cubriendo más del 85 % del consumo nacional.
Entre los incrementos citó el arroz, que pasó de 12.5 a 14.8 millones de quintales; el plátano, de 2.8 a 4.3 millones de millares; la producción mensual de pollo, de 16 a 23.5 millones de unidades, y la de huevos, de 240 a 380 millones.
La organización sostuvo que el aumento del consumo de alimentos responde a mejoras salariales, la ampliación de programas sociales, la alimentación escolar, subsidios focalizados y la expansión de la cobertura de SeNaSa. Además, resaltó que el PIB per cápita aumentó de 8,000 a 11,600 dólares.
