El presidente Luis Abinader promulgó la Ley 97-25, que introduce una actualización integral del Código Procesal Penal, alineada con los estándares constitucionales y las exigencias del sistema de justicia contemporáneo.
El consultor jurídico del Poder Ejecutivo, Antoliano Peralta, explicó que la reforma incorpora criterios del Tribunal Constitucional y de la Suprema Corte de Justicia, fortaleciendo los 28 principios del proceso penal, entre ellos la defensa, la presunción de inocencia y el acceso a mecanismos modernos de solución de conflictos.
