SANTO DOMINGO.- El protocolo utilizado para sacar e identificar las víctimas fatales de la explosión en San Cristóbal ha sido inadecuado e incorrecto, según el patólogo forense Sergio Sarita Valdez.
Criticó que esa labor se realice sin la presencia de médicos forenses, lo que podría provocar que se mezclen los cadáveres y se contabilice, entre otros percances.
«En cambio, si los cuerpos forenses están allí en el lugar van a tener los restos en un sitio, como cuando ocurre una explosión aérea. Allí los restos se van a identificar, usted va a poder recoger todas las partes y se hace mejor el análisis, porque todo empieza con lo que hay», explicó.
Dijo que el personal médico forense está compuesto por antropólogos, médicos y odontólogos forenses. «Este último juega un rol muy importante en la identificación de cadáveres», subrayó.
«Los odontólogos forenses van a jugar un rol de primera línea porque el diente tiene un componente que se llama esmalte, que no se derrite, a menos que las temperatura suba por encima de los tres mil grados fahrenheit, cosa que usualmente no se da en incendios abiertos, por lo tanto», declaró Sarita Valdez en el programa El Despertador, de SIN.
