Sistema Eléctrico registra récord demanda de 4,185 megavatios

SANTO DOMINGO.- El Sistema Eléctrico Nacional Interconectado (SENI) registró un nuevo máximo histórico de demanda instantánea de 4,185.11 megavatios (MW) a las 10:11 de la noche de este martes, informó el ministro de Energía y Minas, Joel Santos.
Explicó que el comportamiento refleja el crecimiento sostenido del consumo eléctrico en el país y la capacidad del sistema para responder de forma estable y confiable.
PICO SEGUIRÁ EN VERANO
Explicó que la tendencia continuará durante todo el verano y que la demanda pudo ser satisfecha gracias a una capacidad instalada resiliente y diversificada.
Señaló que el sistema respondió de manera estable gracias a las inversiones de los últimos años para ampliar la oferta, incorporar nuevas centrales y fortalecer la confiabilidad y la flexibilidad operativa del SENI.
ALIANZA PÚBLICO-PRIVADA
El ministro afirmó que el nuevo hito confirma la importancia de la alianza entre los sectores público y privado para fortalecer el sistema eléctrico, como parte de la transformación del sector por las inversiones en generación, transmisión y distribución y la diversificación de la matriz energética impulsada por el Gobierno.
«Este nuevo récord demuestra que el país cuenta con un sistema eléctrico más robusto, resiliente y diversificado, preparado para responder al crecimiento de la demanda y respaldar el desarrollo económico nacional», expresó.
El nuevo máximo supera la marca anterior de 4,166.52 MW registrada el 16 de julio a las 9:58 de la noche, y confirma la tendencia de crecimiento sostenido del consumo eléctrico.
