Un terremoto de magnitud 5,1 sacude el noreste de Japón sin alerta de tsunami.
TOKIO.– Un terremoto de magnitud 5,1 sacudió este sábado las prefecturas de Miyagi y Fukushima, en el noreste de Japón, donde se sintió con fuerza, sin que las autoridades japonesas emitieran una alerta de tsunami.
El seísmo se produjo a las 4:10 de la madrugada hora local (19:10 GMT) del viernes, con epicentro en la costa frente a Fukushima, donde alcanzó el nivel 4 de la escala japonesa, con un máximo de 7 y centrada en medir la agitación en la superficie y las zonas afectadas, más que en la intensidad del temblor.
En una gran parte del centro del país se sintió con una intensidad de entre 1 y 2, y por el momento no se ha informado de daños materiales ni de heridos provocados por el temblor.
Japón se asienta sobre el llamado Anillo de fuego, una de las zonas sísmicas más activas del mundo, y sufre terremotos con relativa frecuencia, por lo que sus infraestructuras están especialmente diseñadas para aguantar los temblores.
