Bagrícola informa programa de financiamiento superior a RD$600 millones dirigido a productores agropecuarios
Bagrícola.
SANTO DOMINGO.- El Banco Agrícola de la República Dominicana (Bagrícola), informó que, con una inversión superior a RD$600 millones inició un programa de financiamiento a pequeños y medianos productores agropecuarios, para transformar el sector porcino nacional, mediante mejoras sustanciales en sanidad, sostenibilidad y competitividad.
Ese fondo es una respuesta al impacto de la Peste Porcina Africana (PPA) y busca fortalecer las granjas mediante inversiones en infraestructura y equipamiento que permitan elevar los estándares de bioseguridad, reducir riesgos y asegurar una producción porcina más resiliente.
La medida es el resultado de un acuerdo de cooperación entre el Servicio de Inspección Sanitaria de Animales y Plantas (APHIS) del Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos (USDA), el Banco Agrícola, el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) y el Ministerio de Agricultura de la República Dominicana (MARD).
El 50% de los fondos para la ejecución del programa denominado Fondo de Inversión para la Bioseguridad Porcina de la República Dominicana son aportados por el APHIS, mediante una subvención no reembolsable. El 50% restante es aportado por el Bagrícola con recursos propios.
El programa fue presentado durante un acto encabezado por el ministro de Agricultura, Limber Cruz y el administrador del Bagrícola, Fernando Durán.
“Nos proponemos para transformar el sector porcino con una visión de sanidad, sostenibilidad y competitividad”, expresó Durán, durante su discurso.
“Esto significa que cada productor puede modernizar su granja, fortalecer su bioseguridad y mejorar su productividad con el compromiso de poner en práctica los protocolos estandarizados para este programa, siguió diciendo el funcionario.
Explicó que “si un proyecto cuesta un millón de pesos, el Banco Agrícola otorga un préstamo de 500 mil pesos y los otros 500 mil pesos se entregan como donación proveniente del fondo”.
Otros detalles sobre la ejecución del programa fueron aportados por Llisel Quezada, directora de Negocios del Bagrícola.
Los productores que accedan a los préstamos del fondo deberán invertir en la construcción de cercas perimetrales, sistema de limpieza y presión, manejo de residuos y aguas residuales y tener acceso controlados a las granjas, entre otras medidas.
A la actividad asistieron, también, ministros, viceministros y directores departamentales de las instituciones del sector agropecuario nacional, entre ellos, los subadministradores del Bagrícola Eddy Montás Guerrero.
