REDACCION INTERNACIONAL.- Según informes, los Nacionales de Washington le ofrecieron al jardinero derecho dominicano Juan Soto una extensión de contrato por 13 años y $350 millones de dólares antes de que comenzara el cierre patronal de la Grandes Ligas el 2 de diciembre.
El outfielder de 23 años recibió la propuesta por parte de su equipo de la MLB, Sin embargo no concretó el acuerdo.
El quisqueyano es una de las estrellas de las mayores de las que se dice podría firmar un pacto por 400 millones de dólares.
«Mis agentes y yo pensamos que la mejor opción es ir año tras año y esperar la agencia libre. Mi agente, Scott Boras, tiene el control de esa situación», dijo Soto.
En cuatro temporadas en las Grandes Ligas, Juan Soto batea para .301/.432/.550. Tiene una corona de bateo, un título de Serie Mundial y 2 Bates de Plata.
