Vicepresidente AIRD insiste incluir cesantía en discusión de la reforma laboral

SANTO DOMINGO.- El vicepresidente ejecutivo de la Asociación de Industrias de República Dominicana (AIRD), Mario Pujols, insistió este miércoles en la inclusión del tema de la cesantía en la discusión de la reforma laboral, la cual aseguró debe ser transversal.
En el marco del Día Nacional de la Empresa Privada, realizado por el Consejo Nacional de la Empresa Privada (Conep), Pujols destacó que, el Banco Central apunta a un 54 % de las fuerzas laborales informales, es decir, una serie de trabajadores que no tienen ningún tipo de protección, ni contrato de trabajo, que no disfrutarán de la cesantía y, según dijo, que no cotizan en la seguridad social.
“Por ende entendemos que esta es una discusión que tiene que ser transversal, pisar el freno, regresar a la mesa de discusión e involucrar a todas las partes interesadas. Insistiremos con nuestra posición y así lo hemos dado sobre las autoridades”, manifestó.
Aclaró que, su posición continuará siendo la misma sobre que exista un sistema dual.
“En primer lugar, todo el que tenga su contrato de trabajo firmado a la fecha en que entre en vigencia esa nueva modificación, pues va a mantener sus derechos adquiridos, eso no se va a tocar ni con el pétalo de una rosa. Lo que estamos apostando es a que los nuevos contratos de trabajo estén sujetos a topes que reflejen mejores prácticas que han sido implementadas en otros países de la región, como en Costa Rica, en Uruguay. Aquí no estamos trayendo algo que no haya sido probado en otros mercados”, explicó.
Pujols sostuvo que lo que buscan es un espacio y que se regrese a la mesa de discusión.
Detalló que, entre los topes referidos, por ejemplo, 10 salarios y que facilite la generación de nuevos empleos, a través de una serie de disposiciones adicionales que proponen sean incluidas en el código.
Resaltó la vigencia del Código de Trabajo, el cual es del 1992, insistiendo que los empresarios buscan ir trabajando hacia la República Dominicana que quieren y que no exista un 54% de informalidad.
Mario Pujols aseveró que la única reacción que han recibido ha sido negativa, sin dar paso a propuestas adicionales.
“Cuando se está discutiendo temas tan transversales como este, uno se maneja con propuestas y espera recibirlas también de la otra parte”, añadió.
