Abinader impulsa la conectividad del Cibao con nueva carretera Villa Riva–Autopista del Nordeste
VILLA RIVA.— El presidente Luis Abinader inauguró este domingo la nueva carretera que comunica Villa Riva con la autopista del Nordeste, una obra estratégica que fortalece la conectividad del Cibao central con los polos turísticos de Samaná y beneficia de manera directa a más de 50,000 personas.
La vía forma parte del Programa Nacional de Modernización Vial, ejecutado por el Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones, con el propósito de promover un desarrollo territorial sostenible, mayor integración regional y una infraestructura alineada con la visión de crecimiento a largo plazo del país.
El proyecto contempló la construcción de 10.3 kilómetros de carretera, además del asfaltado de 1.7 kilómetros de vías secundarias, impactando positivamente a las comunidades enlazadas y dinamizando la movilidad en la zona.
Impacto económico y productivo
Durante el acto inaugural, el ministro de Obras Públicas, Eduardo Estrella, destacó que la nueva vía tendrá un efecto directo en la economía agrícola y comercial de la región, al facilitar el transporte de productos hacia los mercados nacionales.
“Esta carretera optimiza la logística, reduce costos de transporte y acorta los tiempos de viaje para agricultores, transportistas y comerciantes”, afirmó el funcionario.
La puesta en servicio de la carretera mejora la conexión con la autopista principal, lo que agiliza el flujo de mercancías y fortalece el intercambio comercial entre el Cibao y el nordeste.
Obras que transforman el municipio
El alcalde municipal, Leonardo López, resaltó que durante los últimos años el municipio ha experimentado un impulso significativo en materia de infraestructura.
Señaló que, además de la nueva carretera, se han ejecutado proyectos como la construcción de un destacamento policial, el alcantarillado sanitario, el remozamiento de hospitales, un parque municipal, un multiuso, la carretera Villa Riva–Arenoso, muros de gaviones en Reventazón y la pavimentación del casco urbano con mejoras en aceras y contenes.
Conectividad, seguridad y nuevas oportunidades
Con esta obra, Villa Riva se integra a un eje logístico nacional que facilita su acceso a Santo Domingo y a los destinos turísticos del nordeste, incrementando su atractivo para la inversión privada y mejorando el acceso a servicios esenciales como educación, salud y empleo.
La carretera también eleva los niveles de seguridad vial, gracias a señalización adecuada y una superficie de rodadura en óptimas condiciones, reduciendo riesgos de accidentes y fortaleciendo la movilidad segura.
Detalles técnicos de la obra
Entre los principales trabajos ejecutados se incluyen la pavimentación completa con nueva capa asfáltica, señalización vertical y horizontal, obras de drenaje, construcción de aceras y contenes, así como la estabilización de bancos laterales y mejoras estructurales para garantizar la sostenibilidad de la vía.
Con esta inauguración, el Gobierno consolida su apuesta por la modernización vial como eje clave para el desarrollo económico, la integración regional y la mejora de la calidad de vida de miles de dominicanos.
